A Star Wars themed pop-up? That sounds like a pun challenge to me. Let’s see… ‘May the fork be with you.’ ‘Use the fork Luke.’ ‘Give in to the power of the top side.’ ‘Help me Bao Bun Kenobi. You’re my only hope.’ ‘A long time ago, in a galaxy bar far, far away…’. We could probably go on.
‘Luke, I am your fodder.’ Reaching on that one.
Now that we’ve got the puns out of the way, on to the pop-up Star Wars-themed restaurant, which arrives in London this summer. It’s called (unsurprisingly) The Fork Awakens and will take place at a secret location from 23 June-2 July. Diners (or ‘foodtroopers’ as they will become) are encouraged to wear fancy dress for their culinary tour of Darth Vader’s lair, which includes lightsaber drinks (pictured), ‘special spacefood’ and ‘mini bantha burgers’ and ‘Hutt dogs’.
However space explorers should beware that the canteen has “strong drinks, hot tunes, and occasional outbreaks of shocking violence.”
The event is brought to us by Barrel & Forks, curators of immersive dining experiences in locations across London. Tickets are £55 and include a welcome drink, four-course interactive meal, and entertainment.
