Chef Anthony Raffo and manager Marie Danzanvilliers are to leave Farringdon restaurant Anglo after four and a half years. The couple plan to take a break before revealing details of their next move.
Under their stewardship, the tiny 20-seater rose to number 33 in the Harden’s 100 list of top UK restaurants, and number 11 in London. The 2024 Harden’s Guide said Anthony “absolutely nailed it” with “modern British cooking at its finest“, while Marie presided “with great charm and hospitality“.
Anthony and Marie’s departure was announced on the restaurant’s Instagram feed, which said: “Being the longest-standing members of staff in the history of the restaurant, they have pushed the restaurant further than it’s ever been before. Their hard work and vision of Anglo has paid off with glowing reviews and accolades. Thank you so much and please everyone follow them toes what they do next – but first a well deserved break.“
Anglo was founded in 2016 by chef Mark Jarvis.
