The Sustainable Restaurant Association has launched a summer campaign to encourage the development of healthy relationships with food in families and communities.
The focus for July is cooking and eating with the family, involving children making more positive food choices, while the focus in August is on communities and the universal right to good, nutritious food. Juliane Caillouette Noble, the SRA’s managing director, said: “We want to encourage everybody to be inspired and comforted by the power of food, emotionally as well as physically and nutritionally.”
The campaign is backed by companies including Young’s pubs and East London’s Luminary Bakery, a social enterprise that helps disadvantaged women through baking, with the involvement of food writers and broadcasters including Georgina Hayden, Chetna Makan and author of cookbook Motherland, Melissa Thompson (pictured).
