Many new openings in Camden Town may be following the trend for all things American, but here’s some evidence that Londoners still love some good ol’ British fish and chip… even if the restaurant comes to us from Ireland via Belgium!
Hook, a new seafood spot taking the place of Trattoria Lucca in Parkway, is the sister restaurant of a street food pop-up-turned-perm place in Brussels called Bia Mara. Chef Paul Whiteside says the concept was to create a sustainable fish and chip shop using Irish produce and drawing influences from Mexico, Thailand, Jamaica and other exotic climes.
Now he’s bringing this concept to London, albeit under a new name.
