Parisian bistro, Les Gourmets des Ternes, has opened its first overseas outpost in Maida Vale. The establishment will be run by Maximilien Marie, grandson to Francis Marie who opened the celeb-friendly Paris original in 1962.
The Formosa Street counterpart has exactly the same décor and menu with a focus on meat, sourced from the family farm in Normandy. Rémy Colleu (ex Bistrot Bruno Loubet) will head up the kitchen.
There are already plans for another 50-cover outpost in 2015, possibly in Mayfair or High Street Kensington – more natural locations, one might have thought, for a restaurant originating in what is arguably Paris’s swankiest arrondissement, the 8ème?
