Acclaimed Nottingham Japanese skewer-inspired restaurant Kushi-Ya is moving to larger new premises in the city centre next week, with co-head chef Simon Carlin reassuring fans that it will be “same vibe, just more space“.
The new address is in Enfield Chambers, down an alleyway off Low Pavement, following eight years in Long Row West.
The tiny restaurant won a rare 5/5 rating for its cooking in this year’s Harden’s guide, which described it as “unique and creative“, with “delicious tapas-style Japanese dishes, each one tastier than the last“.
It also received a boost in 2022, when Jay Rayner of The Observer declared it his ‘restaurant of the year’.
