Hot-shot chef Tom Sellers opens his latest restaurant tomorrow (1st April) – Story Cellar off Neal’s Yard in Covent Garden, a counter-and-basement spot inspired by Parisian brasseries.
As the name suggests, it is an offshoot of his celebrated flagship, Restaurant Story near Tower Bridge, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year with a makeover and a new upstairs dining area.
The signature dish at Story Cellar is rotisserie-style chicken served with French fries, but there are plenty of other highlights on the menu, ranging from snail bolognaise on toast with parsley butter or dry-aged pork chop with brandy-pickled dates to whole grilled fish, T-bone steak for two or shoulder of lamb for four to share.
Story Cellar will be followed quickly by Dovetale Tom’s ultra-sustainable restaurant in the new 1 Hotel Mayfair overlooking Green Park, which is scheduled to open in May.
